Vanguard Launches LiveScanID Fingerprint Platform

Vanguard Biometrics has launched LiveScanID, a platform designed to simplify fingerprinting workflows while improving security, compliance and recordkeeping.

The company said the platform was developed around the operational needs of professional fingerprinting providers. LiveScanID combines guided fingerprint capture with secure cloud-based storage for identity-verification records and supporting documents.

Guided fingerprint capture

LiveScanID is designed to guide operators visually through the fingerprint capture process.

The software provides immediate feedback during enrollment, helping operators identify capture problems while the person being fingerprinted is still present. Vanguard said this approach can reduce errors and shorten the learning curve for new staff.

The company developed the platform by examining where friction occurs during fingerprinting appointments and which tasks operators must complete before a submission is finished. LiveScanID is aimed at professional providers handling processes such as background checks, licensing and employment screening.

Compliance built into the workflow

Fingerprinting providers often need to manage more than biometric images. Depending on the application, operators may also need to retain identity-verification records, acknowledgments, forms and other supporting documentation.

LiveScanID places these records within a structured cloud-based environment. Vanguard said this can reduce fragmented storage practices and make compliance processes more consistent across operators. The platform is designed to move administrative requirements into the workflow itself rather than leaving individual employees to decide how records should be stored.

Built around operator feedback

Vanguard said LiveScanID will continue to evolve based on feedback from fingerprinting operators and end users. The company uses that feedback to identify workflow problems, improve capture guidance and prioritize new platform capabilities.

Vanguard said its broader approach is to keep necessary technical complexity in the background while making fingerprint enrollment easier for both operators and the people being fingerprinted.

Fingerprint capture remains widely used in background checks, licensing, employment screening and other identity-verification processes. LiveScanID is designed to modernize that workflow through guided capture, structured recordkeeping and cloud-based administration.
