Dubai Customs boosts airport screening for peak arrivals
Dubai Customs has increased staffing and screening capacity as passenger volumes rise after the summer break. The plan includes 77 baggage screening machines and round-the-clock operations.
According to Dubai Customs, the authority is combining additional personnel, screening technology and digital services to speed up customs procedures during peak travel periods.
77 screening machines support arrivals
Dubai Customs operates 77 baggage screening machines at its air entry points. Of these, 58 handle checked and large baggage, while 19 screen carry-on luggage.
The authority also adjusts staffing based on flight schedules and peak periods. Inspectors use risk indicators to direct inspections more efficiently.

iDeclare cuts processing time
Dubai Customs said its “iDeclare” service can reduce red-channel customs procedures from 45 minutes to less than five minutes. Passengers can use the service to declare personal belongings and accompanying gifts before arrival.
Khalid Ahmed, Director of Passenger Operations at Dubai Customs, said the authority prepares for peak periods by analyzing flight schedules and passenger volumes. “Our goal is for every arriving passenger to experience the level of service Dubai is known for from the moment they land.”
