SolarWinds Avior brings controlled AI to critical IT
SolarWinds has launched Avior, an agentic AI system designed to support secure operations across mission-critical IT environments. The platform combines autonomous IT management with security controls, human oversight and auditable workflows.
Avior helps IT teams coordinate AI agents, diagnose problems and manage operations across hybrid environments. The platform uses a deterministic execution framework to keep AI actions within predefined controls. It also supports compliance monitoring, configuration management and operational resilience.
Security controls limit autonomous AI actions
Avior introduces risk-tiered autonomy to help organizations control AI-driven operations. Potentially dangerous actions require explicit human approval. The system also provides detailed audit trails, data masking and automated rollback support. Strict least-privilege access limits the tools available to AI agents.
Avior can continuously check devices against compliance policies and identify gaps. It also detects configuration changes and supports restoring the last-known-good configuration. These controls aim to help IT teams reduce operational risks while maintaining oversight of automated actions.

When AI exists in mission critical IT work, enterprises need this technology to graduate from virtual assistant to trusted teammate. Avior grounds probabilistic models in deterministic execution, so operators stay in control of high-risk decisions.

Avior also applies data protection controls to AI operations. According to SolarWinds, the system only sends data relevant to a request and within the user’s existing permissions. Customer data remains encrypted and masked. SolarWinds also states that customer data does not train the underlying AI models.
Middle East partners target regulated environments
SolarWinds sees opportunities for Avior through its channel partners in the Middle East. These partners support hybrid IT environments for regional banks, government entities and telecommunications operators. The company’s regional director highlighted the importance of controlled AI deployment in compliance-heavy environments.

Abdul Rehman Tariq Butt, Regional Director – Middle East at SolarWinds.
I’m especially excited to bring Avior to our channel partners, who drive all of our business in the Middle East. They already run the hybrid, compliance-heavy environments that the region’s largest banks, government entities and telcos rely on, and Avior’s auditable, risk-gated approach gives them a trusted way to introduce agentic AI into those estates. The guided onboarding program lets them start with clear outcomes, such as compliance and configuration control, then grow from there.
– Abdul Rehman Tariq Butt, Regional Director – Middle East at SolarWinds
Avior works across self-hosted and cloud environments without requiring organizations to migrate their existing systems. The platform also correlates related alerts into actionable incidents. It supports configuration backups, capacity management and asset lifecycle monitoring. SolarWinds made Avior available on October 14, 2026, through a guided onboarding program.
